What is Reiki Treatment?

The method of receiving a Reiki treatment from a practitioner is a simple process.

The recipient simply lies on a therapy couch and relaxes. If the recipient is unable to lie down the treatment can be given in a sitting position; the main thing is for the recipient to be as comfortable as possible. Both the recipient and the practitioner remain fully clothed as Reiki energy will pass through clothing, even plaster casts. Although the recipient may be asked to remove shoes or tight fitting items such as a large belt, watches and jewellery (not wedding rings). A full session can last for an hour or more but, if time is limited a shorter session can be arranged which lasts about 15 minutes. The pracitioner gently places their hands non-intrusively in a sequence of positions which will cover the whole body. Energy is transferred to the client through the hands of practitinoer. Each hand position is held for several minutes.
